Frankincense
The last post I did spoke of some of the powerful benefits of Frankincense, and how in eastern cultures they drink Frankincense water. So, I decided to give this a try for myself. I have no idea how they make it overseas, probably straight from the resin with a steeping or distilling process involved, but with my little bottle of pure Frankincense Essential Oil
I was pretty sure I could give it a red-hot go. Let me know in the comments below if you have seen how this is made!
I would love to know. Deciding to put this on my bucket list: "Buy Frankincense resin from a local market." Happy days.

FRANKINCENSE WATER RECIPE
1 drop Frankincense Essential Oil
1- 2 litres pure water
1-2 litre sealable water bottle.

Put one SINGLE drop of Frankincense into a sealable bottle. Top with 1-2 litres pure water. Seal, and allow to sit overnight in fridge. Gently shake or invert before serving.
This recipe was amazing. I love Frankincense. When I began my natural healing journey, Frankincense was an oil I'd always wanted to experience... mostly due to it being given to Jesus, and I can tell you, it doesn't disappoint. This is quite a strong flavour and scent, so you could definitely go as high as three litres to one drop for a more subtle flavour, I just didn't have a big enough bottle! I still enjoyed the strong flavour, but my children preferred it diluted to half-strength.

My family is into sparkling mineral water at the moment, so as a modification I added a half a cup of sparkling mineral water to our 1/2 a cup of "Frankincense Water" as I served it. Using the Frankincense water in this way, a bit like a concentrate, worked beautifully, especially with the help of a little bit of bubbles. I am keen to give Frankincense a go in a teapot as a hot tea too.

I also tried this recipe with Bergamot Essential Oil. It was a beautiful flavour. Much like an Orange flavoured water. You could also try this recipe with any of our culinary essential oils range. Get creative and keep up your fluids naturally, with the added boost of your favourite herb or oil. Just ensure your oil is pure enough for culinary use.

CAUTION: DO NOT INGEST RANDOM ESSENTIAL OILS. ALL ESSENTIAL OILS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL. Please only use brands that SPECIFY "for culinary use." and only in the recommended doses. Please read and follow the label.

Have you tried Frankincense? Have you ever used essential oils for culinary use?

I just made Frankincense water with Resin from YL. I took about a handful of resin, put it in a 2 quart jar and filled with boiling water. We let it sit overnight. We refill with boiling water when it gets down halfway. My hubby and I drink a cup a day. I am already noticing some changes in joints and my gut.
